The Colorado River has been over allocated. In the not so distant future, we face serious issues regarding the sustainability of our future population growth and the continuation of Arizona’s agricultural industrial base. In order to sustain both, we need to begin a serious conversation about water augmentation.
I am a Co-Chair of an Ad-Hoc Committee on Water Legislation that traveled around Arizona to meet with water experts, farmers and developers to discuss this very issue. While we can do great things with conservation and small water projects, our future depends on real augmentation of our water supply.
I am proud to be part of a team that is working on a long-term solution that will affect us all!
